So apparently I am a hobbit....

PS - check out This Blog Post

A great blog post about relativity I think we ALL need to read :D.

Okay so a 3 1/2 mile run and then 1 hour with the personal trainer (strength/flexibility/core/abs)was a lot more exhausting than I had presumed it would be. Definitely a good feeling but exhausted nonetheless.

Oh and apparently on dailymile (for those of you who use that) you can import your runs directly from your garmin device now. I haven't tried it yet but plan on putting that to the test when I get home. I'm excited!

ReCap of the Run:
Run went great, we (my friend and I) kept the pace really slow because;
1. I had the trainer afterward
2. I have to run tomorrow
3. I have a race (5k) this weekend and I don't want to kill my legs

We talked about politics for the entire run, debating the healthcare bill. I tell you 36 minutes never went by so fast! Though by the end we were both starting to be more agreeable (I think this was more due to a lack of oxygen making the arguing increasingly difficult than any changes in opinion :D).

Man if you want to make the time go by, argue politics! But fair warning here, only do it with GOOD friends who you know you can argue with without affecting the friendship. She's the only one I can think of who I could do that with.

Time for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to satisfy this never-ending, never-satiated hunger! This is getting a bit ridiculous lol. I feel like I'm a hobbit in Lord of the Rings. For those who haven't seen the movie/read the book, here's a hobbit's meal plan:
breakfast
second breakfast
elevenses
luncheon
afternoon tea
dinner
supper (later in the evening from dinner)

Yep I'm officially a small furry footed creature from a fantasy-world because that is EXACTLY what my meal plan looks like :D.

  1. So what do you think Pippin, shall we have Second Breakfast? What about Elevenses? Love it! Nice job on the 3 1/2 mile run!

  2. Oh, so that's my problem! I must be a hobbit too. My kids make fun of me when I start fixing my lunch at 10:59. What??

Thanks for stopping by my blog! And congrats for signing up for Chicago. I was thinking about running it too but just heard it is sold out! I look forward to following your training!

  3. Ha! Since I mostly train alone, I used to debate politics on the blog - turns out that's a BAD idea for your point exactly - you need friends you can trust to be cool with disagreements, and some stuff just doesn't translate well through the Internet medium.

Cool to hear you're running the Chicago marathon - I was just reading your other post about times, and trust me - with your 5k and 10k times, you will be FINE. More than fine actually. Your current 5k/10k times are actually a bit faster than me, and I've pulled out a 4:20 and a 4:37 at that race.

    Happy training!!
