I realized I haven't updated since Monday in regards to my training. I'm REALLY tired. I'm thankful I'm not injured and in no real pain but the training has been tough on my overall energy level. I'm hoping in a couple weeks I'll be acclimated to the new mileage/cross training.
Overall though it's going really great! So... quick summary and I'm off to bed for a nap :D
Training This Week:
Mon: 6 mi easy run
Tues: 5 1/2 mi speedwork
Wed: Rest
Thurs: 4 1/2 mile hill training
Fri: Corework
Sat: 12 mile long run
Sun: Cross Training - 20 mi Bike Ride
Oh and check out my training plan.... finally put it online!
You are kicking some major ass!
ReplyDeletePhew...just reading that makes me tired!! I don't blame you for being sleepy!
ReplyDeleteGet a few extra hours of sleep if possible. It will help
ReplyDeletewow girl, your schedule is mad!! Get some sleep!
ReplyDeleteHey Lauren! Thanks for stopping by my blog! Looks like you are doing some great training for Chicago!!
ReplyDeleteAs for what causes glaucoma it is really genetic, I think? I don't really think there is any way to prevent it.If you go to the eye doctor regularly they would be able to recognize it. It is just abnormal pressure in the eyeball and eventually can cause you to go blind. Scary, huh?
I'm diggin the plan... seems like you build mileage pretty fast at the beginning but level off pretty quickly. You should start to adapting and feeling more energized in a few weeks... keep up the good work!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing really good! I'm gonna check out more of your training plan later too b/c it might help me outta my funk!
ReplyDeleteYour long runs and consistency have been very inspiring!
Damn girl! No wonder you're wiped! I'm sure after a few more weeks you'll be fine!
ReplyDeleteBeen keeping my eye on you on DM and you're doing really great! Keep it up girly! You're going to really rock Chi-town if you keep this up! :)
ReplyDeleteWhoa, what a hardcore week. You go girl!
ReplyDeleteNice week plan! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteYeah, when I make jumps in my mileage I notice myself getting more tired too.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever feel like your over training/burnt out I've heard its okay to turn one of your short runs into an "off day." The times I've done that seem to recharge me a TON. Only when necessary though.
Geez - echoing everyone else's sentiment - that workout schedule's pretty exhausting! Don't forget that your muscles do most of their rebuilding during the rest phase. My muscles do their rebuilding during the beer phase ;)
ReplyDeleteI think it's okay to feel wiped/tired/stressed out when training. Just make sure you take a good recovery break every few weeks to recharge those batteries. You won't be able run well if you're not properly recovered.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the rest of your training!
Hey there fellow exhausted runner! :) I just finished the first of the two posts I mentioned yesterday. One posting at 9 pm, with link to you and Kitzzy.
ReplyDeleteSooo glad to see your Chicago list of bloggers/runners. That's cool!
Hope Saturday's run goes well. I'm scheduled for a short 4 with the group and an add'l 2 OMO. It's a short week for us.
Headed to bed.. HUGS!!!!
your virtual mom! :)
Excellent job! Don't be afraid to turn some runs into easy runs to give you a bit more of a break.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thanks so much for the blog list I love it.
