16 Milessss
I just wanted to start with the image. THAT is what I ran 16 miles around this morning from 4-7am. It was about a 2 mile loop so basically a giant track. Wowww talk about mental toughness. I passed my car EIGHT times!! It took me exactly 3 hours.
So not much to say as usual. I've been lacking in creativity and thought lately unfortunately. But the run went well miles 1-14. Miles 15 and 16 I cried through. I had no specific pain it was kinda just my entire lower body radiating through me every time I took a walk break. It was intense.... my body was just exhausted. But overall was able to finish strong and felt good :).
And by the way.... today is... MY 21ST BIRTHDAY!!!! Yepppers... time to go have some fun now :D

16 miles on your birthday! WOO HOO!!! Happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteA loop would be tough. Sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do though.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm a new-ish reader of your blog. Wanted to say Happy Birthday! And, good job on your 16 miles. A loop like that would be tough!
ReplyDeleteWow! Why did you have to do 2-mile laps? You did this alone? I would have cried too lol The most I've ever run by myself is 10. Great job and happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME JOB! Happy B-day you young lil thang ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is hardcore doing 3 hours of running. My gosh. I find often times the endurance comes in just being OK with being out spending that much of your day running!
Great job! Happy B-Day! Now go have a drink for every mile you ran today LOL :D
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Tough run and you're well on your way to Chicago training. If you drink, have a beer...you need the carb replacement

ReplyDelete16 miles is awesome... i can't believe you do a loop like that! I always do my long runs as out and backs so that I have no choice but to do the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteHappy B-day... 21 huh... so I assume that you're going to try your first drink today?
Happy 21st birthday!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great birthday run but I could see where it would be mentally exhausting to run by your car 8 times! eek!
All I can say is WOW - and you deserve a special bday celebration!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday chica and WOOT WOOT for completing 16 miles. You passed your car 8 times? All I can say is wow. Wow. That's excellent mental training. You go girl.
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated 21st! Obviously you didn't die, so that's a good thing :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the crying thing. The first to half marathons I did I felt like that at mile 12. Good to know this could happen in the course of marathon training. Nice run!
