November Recap & December Goals

What went on in November?
  • Ran 73 Miles
  • Completed a 10k in Phoenix (Auto-PR)
What do I want to go on in December?
  • Definite:
    • Run 80 Miles
    • Complete a half marathon (OUC on 12/4/2010)
  • "Reach" Goals:
    • Complete a 5k IF I'm feeling completely recovered from the half (Reindeer Run 12/11/2010)
    • Learn how to swim :) (or at least do 1-3 hr training session to get the "basics" down enough to burn some calories in a pool :D)
    • Fit in an extra 5 running miles to bring total to 85... eventually next year I want to bring my base to 90 miles/month. This month will be a bit hard though with the two races. It's a lot easier to run 90 easy miles than 85 miles including a half marathon and a 5k lol!
Other Noteworthy Things
  • Ordered new shoes today! I've been running in the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 10's for the past year. I ordered the GTS 11.... anyone have any experience with the two? I'm a little worried :( If they don't work, they still sell the 10's online so I'll just stock up on those but I really hope I can work with the updated ones.

  • I've been running in the same running bra forever.... (I only own one). I like it because it's got significant padding and that padding hides the so called "headlight" effect that happens in some women (me in particular!). I went shopping for a new bra today since I've kinda killed mine by wearing it for EVERY RUN the past year. Is it just me or is it impossible to find a well padded sports bra for women with no boobs? I wear an A cup but I still want enough padding to... ummm... hide things? It's frustrating. I ended up just ordering my same bra (see below except I ordered in black) from online since they didn't have it in the store.

  1. Haha I have the same issue with sports bras!! Let me know if you like that one! I know you already have one but still, let me know. Great job in November and it looks like December will be great! Good luck with the shoes. I haven't worn either but when I went from one model to the other of my shoes, I LOVED the newer model so I hope it's the same for you!

  2. I love my GTS10s but have been hesitant to goto the newer model. Make sure you write a post about them when you have done a few runs :)

  5. You had a great month! I'll see you Sat at OUC as you speed past me ;) This will be my 3rd time on this course (it was my first half ever) and I'm out to just enjoy myself -- I'm leaving my watch at home *gasp* It's supposed to be COLD! I just hope it't not also raining like last year, though last year it warmed up and only drizzled, so it was kinda nice.

If you like the 10's you will love the 11's with Brooks DNA. An even softer ride.
