Ran 3 miles today on the treadmill at the gym. Virtually pain free! My shins didn't hurt at all, my ankle/achilles tendon was a bit achey but never more than a 1-2/10 on the pain scale.
I attribute this to...
1. Ran on a VERY soft treadmill
2. took ibuprofen BEFORE I ran
3. Didn't speed up at the end
4. Stretched my calves like crazy beforehand (like a whole 3 minutes of just calf stretching).
Whatever the reason I'm pretty happy. I'm wondering if the softer surfaces make my ankle hurt and harder makes my shins hurt. Hmmm I may have to switch back and forth? I wish there was a perfect surface that hurt neither part LOL.
