Prescription to Run :)

Physical Therapy Appointment Today:
-Did my normal strengthening, stretching routine
-PT had me run 1 mile on the treadmill at a "fast" pace to make sure speed didn't cause pain - it didn't :D
-my prescription is to run every other day and work my way up to 5 miles again :)

When I asked how fast I should be increasing speed and he told me my body would let me know. That's terrifying, I've never been very good at listening. So I think my "real" homework is to REALLY let my body tell me and actually listen :)

Feeling Hopeful :D

  1. Good news! Sounds like things are moving along nicely.

Keeping fingers crossed for good listening and well behaved legs. :)

  2. Sounds great Lauren! Yay, you get to run again! So happy for you!

  3. Hey Lauren, didn't get to comment on Wednesday's post so...

Anyway, I'm sorry that you won't get to run Chicago this year. I know how big of a letdown it may seem but things happen for a reason, and you might not quite know what that is but you will someday. My guess is that taking your foot off the gas will be beneficial in the long run. You'll have a different perspective afterward and will be better off because of it.

I have no doubt you'll get to a marathon finish line someday, soon probably. I mean look at all the things you crossed off your list in a short amount of time. I mean, you ran your first half-marathon and your first 18-mile run within a week of each other. My first half and first 18-miler were like seven months apart.

Anyway, glad you're back blogging regularly and hopefully the blog can provide you an outlet for your frustrations/achievements/desires/etc. if nothing else.
